WHAT IS THE AZPERFORMS! APPRAISAL AND WHAT DOES AZPERFORMS! MEASURE?

AZPerforms! is the State’s performance management appraisal and platform and is used by State Personnel System (SPS) agencies, boards and commissions.  AZPerforms! (AZP) supports the Arizona Management System (AMS) which is a results-driven approach based upon Lean principles, and was created to provide all SPS agencies with a simple appraisal that can be universally applied across every professional discipline in the State.  AZPerforms! is different because it not only focuses on each individuals results and behaviors, it also evaluates the impact of the work on the individual, team, division, agency and the State.

AZPerforms! Measures:

  • RESULTS - what the employee accomplished.  Results describes what the employee achieved during the performance appraisal cycle.
  • BEHAVIORS - how the employee performed the job.  Behaviors describe what actions the employee took to achieve the results.

Each category accounts for 50% of the overall performance evaluation rating.
