COVID-19
Along with other employers, the State of Arizona has worked to address the COVID-19 pandemic since early 2020. This page provides COVID-related information and resources that may be helpful for State employees.
In 2020, the Federal government passed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA), which was in effect through December 31, 2020. That law provided two types of paid leave for COVID-19 reasons: Emergency Paid Sick Leave (EPSL) and Expanded Family Medical Leave (EFML). Those leaves are not available after December 31, 2020.
Employees who may be absent from work for reasons related to COVID-19 on or after January 1, 2021 should use the Notification of Need for Leave Due to COVID-19 Reasons below, and work with their supervisors and Human Resources regarding which type of leave is appropriate for their situation.
