2015 Hiring Freeze

In January 2015, Governor Douglas A. Ducey announced in his State of the State address that he would be instituting a state government hiring freeze, with protections for vital areas, such as public safety and child safety. As a direct result, effective February 1, 2015, all executive agencies, boards, and commissions will be under a hiring freeze. Although the hiring freeze does not apply to agencies headed by an elected official, given the State’s current economic situation, they are strongly encouraged to voluntarily comply with this hiring freeze.
